François Dal – Handmade 2024 (on stem) δ |
Here is a very pretty Rhodesian shape made in a block of fossil oak (called Morta), here in smooth finish which lets appear the natural rings of wood. Curves are well designed without excessive bent shank. The stem is cut from a blue/orange cumberland bar from the German company “SEM” (Schönberger Ebonite Manufaktur), which is known worldwide as the best quality ebonite. This stem color matches the sober color of the morta very nicely. The flock is made of teflon and the shank is drilled to 4.2mm. The button of the stem is concave and has a good V-shaped opening for an optimal draw. According to the French supplier, this grey Morta comes from Croatia, carved from oak trees that have been submerged for 4000 years.
