| François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) δ | |
It is never easy to determine with certainty the shape of certain models, especially for Belgian and cutty. This one being long enough, with rims parallel to the axis of the stem, I consider it a Belgian. The sanding is not deep but reveals a dense and tortured briar, stained in a dark burgundy color. The long shank is mounted with a cumberland stem adorned by a set of brass and briar washers. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Corsican origin, benefited at least from a year (I guess much more) and a half of drying and 7 more months in my own reserve.
