Out of stock
For a few years now, I have had two large bags containing nearly 300 small-sized blanks, for the most part without much interest in terms of the grain, but these blanks stayed for years at Marco Biagini (Moretti pipes) then at the pipe maker David Enrique for finally land in my workshop, I estimate their age at 40 years minimum. From this old stock, I was able to select a 50th of ebauchons whose size is exploitable and only ten whose grain is pleasing to the eye. I carved this little Dublin out of one of these. And even though the sandblasting couldn’t dig it deep (due to the age and density of the wood), it has a nice grain in ring grain that I ended up staining in a dark brown / burgundy color. The chamber, 19mm by 39mm deep, classifies it in a good group 2. The rims are chamfered and the saddle stem is made of acrylic (in shades similar to cumberland). The flock is in teflon and the rod drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece (cut concave) is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Italian origin, has benefited from more than 40 years of drying.
