François Dal – Tradition 2017 – (on stem) δ

When I saw this draft in the stocks of Chacom in St-Claude, I did not hesitate long and I already knew what type of stem I was going to turn.  So, this is a bent Dublin with distant appearance of Calabash. Its grain is not the most nasty and reveals, after sandblasting, a well marked rin grain.  Aside from the overhanging rims of the chamber that are tinted ‘chocolate’, the rest of the stummel is left untouched from any stain or treatment.  The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece (carved concave) is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar has more than 10 years of drying in the drying roomss and granaries of Chacom in Saint-Claude.

Produced in 2017, it is therefore stamped ‘Tradition 2017’.

This pipe is new and has never been smoked.
The stummel is in pristine condition, showing no apparent stroke or claw.
The chamber is new, without cake.
The cumberland stem is new and there is no tooth mark and no claws.
