François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) δ |
Here is another variant of the Cutty model, which differs by its ‘tulip’ cut edges, but also from the rounded shape of the bowl and its wooden generosity (the minimum wall thickness is 9mm). The finish is smooth and chocolate stained. The end of the shank is reinforced by a 3mm silver ring. The stem supplied is cut from an old resin, more than 30 years old, similar to the pipes that were regularly found on meerschaum pipes. This material being a bit more fragile than the acrylic, I preferred to maintain a thickness of safety at the level of the mouthpiece. If it is your wish, a second stem in the material of your choice can be realized at friendly price. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece (concave) is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Corsican origin, benefited from a year and a half of drying by my supplier and an additional year on my reserve..
