François Dal – Tradition 2017 – (on stem) δ |
The classical and timeless Billiard shape. Its dimensions and its chamber of 21mm by 49mm classify it in the group 5 pipes. Sandblasting is softly done, not deep, it nevertheless reveals the details of the grain and pretty concentric rings. The stem is hand cut from a bar of german ebonite (cumberland) in a culvert color to match the burgundy stain of the stummel. The rims are kept smooth. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece (carved concave) is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar has more than 25 years of drying in the drying roomss and granaries of Chacom in Saint-Claude.
Produced in 2017, it is therefore stamped ‘Tradition 2917′.
