| François Dal – Tradition 2022 – (on stem) δ | |
This is a Billiard Army in sandblasted finish and stained red ruby/burgundy. The surface sandblasting reveals an offset cross-grain structure. The end of the shank is strenghtened by an olive copper ring which combines nicely the stain of the stummel with the red-black of the cumberland stem. This one is hand cut from a cumberland bar from the renowned German company “New York Hamburger Gummi-Waaren” active since 1871 in the production of high quality ebonite. The generous chamber classifies it as Group 5 (21mm diameter by 45.7mm deep). The flock is cut in the mass and the shank is drilled to 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece (concave cut) is open in a V-shape for optimum draw. The briar, from the Chrétin workshops in Saint-Claude (which closed in the 80s and 90s), has been drying for over 30 years!
Produced in the year 2022, it is therefore marked ‘Tradition 2022’.
