I am pleased to offer you my first try on this Elephant Foot shape, directly inspired by the work of Anatoly Sibiryatkin. Properly carved on a flamed plateau, this shape features flames on the sides and birdseyes on the front and back of the stummel. I mounted it here with a brown bamboo extension which I polished to give it that vintage patina. In the extension of the nodes, I added a stem cut in an orange/pink ebonite bar from the renowned German company “New York Hamburger Gummi-Waaren” active since 1871 in the production of very high quality ebonite. Despite small natural defects in the briar, the expected effect is there: I am satisfied with this realization. The chamber of 21mm x 42mm allows to classify it as a generous group 4. The flock is made of teflon and the shank is drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece (concave cut) is well opened in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Italian origin, has benefited from one year of drying at the supplier and four more years in my storeroom.
