I’ve been meaning to make this shape for a while now but couldn’t find the time. It’s done with this billiard with a high chamber (57mm), almost a Chimney, with a 1/8th bent shank. The well marked sandblasting reveals a superb 360° ring grain and it is stained a light brown colour (less red than shown in the photos). The stem is cut from a bar of ebonite from the renowned German company “New York Hamburger Gummi-Waaren”, which has been active since 1871 in the production of very high quality ebonite. The flock is made of Teflon and the shank is drilled to 4.2mm. The button of the stem (concave cut) is well opened in V-shape for an optimal draw. The briar, of Algerian origin, has benefited from six months drying at the supplier and two more years in my store.
