This is the result of an order. Normally I don’t accept commissions anymore because of time constraints, but I accepted and took the challenge for this model. The shape is just as the customer wanted: a fairly wide base, a minimum height of 5cm and a very slight curvature of the shank, rounded rims, a virgin chamber and a wide and thick bit. The briar is clear and shows a beautiful straight grain all around the head. The extension is black acrylic, with a ring in the same tone as the stem: translucent yellow with some ‘cream’ waves. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled to 4.2mm. The button of the stem (concave cut) is well opened in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Italian origin, has had one year of drying at the supplier and a additional five years in my storeroom.
