François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) δ |
Among the shapes that I particularly like, there is the Pear which, in my opinion, makes a very successful alliance between the strict lines of a straight pipe and the undulations of a bent (at the level of the head). The present model is in a mixed finish, with the smooth upper part and the entire lower sanded area which reveals a very beautiful ring grain. The choice of a colored ebonite brown ‘briar’ is a reminder of the smooth part, giving coherence and harmony to the whole. The floc is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece (concave) is well open in V for optimal draw. The briar, of italian origin, has benefited from a year and a half of drying at the supplier and 9 more months in my reserve.
