François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) δ |
Carved in a wide plateau of Tuscan briar, this flower does not leave indifferent. Its dark colors, its upper plateau in rusticated finish and its organic appearance almost from another world have earned it the name ‘Night Flower’. The finish is slightly sandblasted on the surface and the shank is adorned with a horn and cumberland extension. The stem is cut in a way to lighten the overall vision. The overall color of the pipe tends to dark brown with dark red highlights brought by the hue of the stem. A nice model inspired with nuances by the work of master Pierre Morel. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece, concave, is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Tuscan origin, benefited from a year and a half of drying by the supplier plus one year more on my own reserve.
