François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) δ |
The ‘virgin’ or natural finish is undoubtedly the most difficult to deliver because the briar may show no natural defect, no fault or sandpit. I had to exclude 5 plateaus before I could finish this slightly canted Belge. The result is pleasing to the eye, with an elegant shape. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Tuscan origin, benefited at least from a year and a half of drying and 4 more months in my own reserve.
