François Dal – Handmade 2020 – (on stem) δ |
Out of stock
I am pleased to offer you the one that will undoubtedly be the last handmade model of this very special year. Coincidence or the fruit of a premonitory instinct, the shape of the head is reminiscent of that of an egg, perhaps presaging the hatching of beautiful things to come … So here I chose to carve the shape (a straight billiard ‘ovoid’) while keeping part of the brush (the outer crust of the briar bulb) visible on the rims of the chamber. The sandblasting reveals a very pretty ring grain dressed in a light brown stain. No frills, the stem ends in a tapered stem, cut from a bar of German grade cumberland. The flock is in teflon and the rod drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece (cut concave) is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Tuscan origin, has benefited from a year and a half of drying at the supplier and an additional 3 years in my reserve.
