François Dal – Tradition 2021 – (on stem) δ |
Out of stock
Here is a short pipe, called nosewarmer, with a Dublin shaped stummel and a flattened shank whose en is adorned by a synthetic horn washer. The briar, obliquely cut, offers here a nice show of flames that I tried to raise with contrasting brown/orange stains. Of course, it’s the whistle that reduce the length of this model (11cm). The stem is made in ebonite and the floc is cut in the mass, with a shank drilled at 4.2mm. The concave lens of the mouthpiece is well V-shaped for optimal draw. The briar is very old as it was part of a stock I bought to the former pipemaker Jean-Pierre Forton (in Belgium) who was was pipemaking in the 90’s, it has more than 30 years of drying! Please take note of some natural imperfections in the briar, visible on the penultimate photo.
Produced in the beginning of 2021, it is therefore marked ‘Tradition 2021’.
