François Dal – C16 – * – (on stem) Delta |
I admit to be a little under the charm of this cross cut flamed & flawless briar. The contrasting stain is polished with carnauba wax. It is thus composed of a ‘Tomato’ shape turned in Saint-Claude in France and a handcut stem from a cumberland rod of German quality. The flock is teflon (nylon) and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draft. The briar has more than 20 years of drying in the drying roomss and granaries of Chacom in Saint-Claude.
Produced at the end of 2016, it is therefore stamped ‘C 16’ (‘C’ for the Custom series, now renamed Tradition). A star is also added to indicate that the stem was made by hand.
This pipe is new and has never been smoked.
The stummel is in pristine condition, showing no apparent stroke or claw.
The chamber is new, without cake.
The cumberland stem is new and there is no tooth mark and no claws. |
