François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) δ |
Worked from a gray fossil oak block, here is a short pipe called ‘Chubby’, with swollen head and shortened leg. The end of the short shank is adorned with an aluminium support ring and the stem is carved in a ‘Prussian Blue’ colored ebonite rod, from the German house SEM. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draw. This bog oak, of Ukrainian origin, is said by the supplier to have been carbon dated and is approximately 5500-5600 years old.
