François Dal – Handmade 2018 – (on stem) δ |
Here is a long Canadian a bit particular since the shank is hexagonal, which gives the bowl a structure less common to this classic form since the lower pannels continue under the base of the pipe and give the head a slight conical effect. Sandblasting reveals pretty concentric rings and the stain swinging is between black and very dark garnet blends perfectly with the cumberland of the stem. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Italian origin, benefited at least from a year and a half of drying (I guess much more) and 1 more year and a half in my own reserve.
