I am very pleased to present you with a model of the Semois Pot. The particularity of the shape is that it is suitable for ‘Semois’ type tobaccos: the chamber is cut particularly wide, with thick walls, and is also suitable for ‘flake’ tobaccos. The finish is rusticated in the Lunar style, with irregular craters and protuberances that are prominent but soft to the touch, making it easier to grip. The stain is a ‘dark burgundy’ colour with the edges of the top kept smooth to maintain the harmony of the shape. The end of the shank is decorated with a stabilised maple roundel, which contrasts with the ebonite saddle stem, cut from a bar of ebonite from the renowned German company “New York Hamburger Gummi-Waaren”, which has been active since 1871 in the production of high quality ebonite. The flock is made of Teflon and the shank is drilled at 4.2mm. The concave slot of the mouthpiece is well opened in a V shape for an optimal draw. The briar, which comes from the Chrétin workshops in Saint-Claude (an establishment that closed its doors in the 1980s and 1990s), has been drying for over 30 years!
