François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) δ |
Here is a model I wanted to share : a nicely curved horn, with a mixed finish: sandblasted on the front, it reveals beautiful rings that follow the curve to the top, and kept smooth on the back part where it reveals beautiful partridge eyes. The shank was initially not long enough for my taste, I chose to add an extension consisting of a washer of the same cumberland as the stem (Green / Black), and a suite in briar. The top of the head (the rims) is left blank. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece, concave, is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Tuscan origin, benefited from a year and a half of drying by the supplier plus six months more on my own reserve.
