| François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) δ | |
It is never easy to determine with certainty the shape of certain models, especially for Belgian and cutty. This one being long enough, with rims parallel to the shank’s axis, I consider it a Belgian. Sandblasting reveals very tight rings, a sign of briar growing in arid conditions. The long shank is supported at its end by an old silver ring and mounted with a colored ebonite stem (cumberland) of Prussian Blue color. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, of Corsican origin, benefited at least from a year (I guess much more) and a half of drying and 7 more months in my own reserve.
