This Liverppol is interesting for many reasons. First by the age of its briar which goes back to the 70’s as it was part of an old batch of sketches labelled ‘Congo Belge’ (and therefor old of more than 50 years!). This seniority gives profitable lightness to the wood but also a very good receptivity to the sandblasting process : the rings are well marked. I really like the shape I tried to give to the pipe with this conical shank kept till the mouthpiece. Finally, I appreciate the shift of the rings, giving her this specific character. The stem is handcut in a bar of ‘Prussian Blue’ ebonite, with a briar ring for the light contrast. The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The concave slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar has more than 50 years of drying and history.
Produced this year 2020, it is stamped ‘Tradition 2020’.
