François Dal – Handmade 2017 – (on stem) Delta

Since a long time, I wanted to work Morta. Having grabbed a few blocks of grey bog oak, I attacked one of my favorite shapes and added a colored ebonite stem (hand made of course), a very pretty color oscillating between the prussian and petrol blue. Beyond the harmony of colors, it is especially the work of shape that pleased me on this model, with an ovoid bowl and a successful continuity of the shank towards the stem. This fossil oak being particularly light, I recommend a precoating to protect the chamber during the first smokes.  The flock is teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draw. This bog oak, of Ukrainian origin, is said by the supplier to have been carbon dated and is approximately 5500-5600 years old.
