François Dal – Handmade 2018 – (on stem) δ |
I wanted to have fun with a rest of plateau and it was an opportunity to go on a shape I’m less used to. Here is a variant of a slightly asymmetrical Rhodesian. In sandeblasted finish and ‘Havana’ stain, the shank is adorned with a zebrano extension, cumberland washers and a German grade cumberland stem. The shallow chamber is justified by the somewhat crushed shape. A second ebony stem, saddle-shaped, is provided (see photos), it is the result of a first test that I did not find convincing. The flock is made of teflon and the shank drilled at 4.2mm. The concave slot of the mouthpiece is well open in V for an optimal draw. The briar, from Italian origin, has benefited from 3 years of drying.
